This morning came with great news. My first YA novel, Katrin’s Chronicles: The Canon of Jacquelene Dyanne, Vol. 1 was selected as a finalist for the Jessie Redmon Fauset Book Award in Children/Young Adult category.
The award is sponsored by the L.A. Leimert Park Book Fair . The winner will be announced on the main stage of the Book Fair Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 @ 3pm which takes place this year at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.

There will be over 150 celebrity readings, book signings, writing workshops, panel discussions, poetry readings, stage performances and musical performance during this day-long festival, beginning at 10:00am!
