This morning came with great news. My first YA novel, Katrin’s Chronicles: The Canon of Jacquelene Dyanne, Vol. 1 was selected as a finalist for the Jessie Redmon Fauset Book Award in Children/Young Adult category.

The award is sponsored by the L.A. Leimert Park Book Fair . The winner will be announced on the main stage of the Book Fair Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 @ 3pm which takes place this year at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.

The great film director, Francois Truffaut, and others of the French New Wave in the 1950s and 1960s, developed what is known as the Auteur Theory. This theory asserts that the director should be the true author of a film. As a Film and Television Writer and Novelist, I can only accept this theory if the Director is also the Writer, otherwise, not so much.
